In the world of royalty, style coincidences between princesses and queens are not uncommon, but when one garment is so similar to another, curiosity grows.
This was the recent case between Princess Mette-Marit of Norway and Princess Leonor of Spain, who have shown a very similar taste in fashion.
Princess Leonor and Mette-Marit’s style matches
During the state visit of the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, to Norway, Mette-Marit attended an official reception wearing a green dress that quickly attracted attention for its resemblance to one that Leonor had worn the previous year.
The Norwegian princess opted for a design with short sleeves and full skirt, almost identical to the dress that Leonor wore for the first time in November 2022, during the solemn opening of the XV Legislature of the Cortes Generales in Madrid.
Leonor’s dress, signed by Adolfo Dominguez, was distinguished by having a large clip that created a slit in the skirt, a detail absent in Mette-Marit’s version. However, the A-line cut and simple elegance of both outfits did not go unnoticed.
Mette-Marit completed her look with a handbag in green, while Leonor had chosen camel-colored accessories for her version of the outfit: Hugo Boss heels, a Carolina Herrera bag that belonged to her mother, Queen Letizia, and a coat of the same brand.
This is not the first crossover of styles between Mette-Marit and Spanish royalty.
In October 2022, the Norwegian princess wore a white embroidered blouse from Swedish brand & Other Stories during an event with Doctors Without Borders.
The blouse in question was also worn by Queen Letizia and, interestingly, had been worn for the first time by Leonor herself at an event on youth and cybersecurity in Leganés.
The blouse, romantic in style, with floral embroidery and puffed sleeves, won over not only Leonor and Letizia, but also Mette-Marit.
