Princess Madeleine of Sweden has been picking up her official schedule since her return to the Scandinavian country.
She was recently spotted with the Swedish royal family at the opening of parliament and, this Tuesday, flew to New York with her mother, Queen Silvia, to take part in events commemorating the 25th anniversary of the World Childhood Foundation.
Princess Madeleine of Sweden’s style in New York
During a dinner held in the Big Apple, the princess dazzled in a floral dress by the renowned British brand Erdem.
This elegant design, which combines blue, white and black tones, features a high lace neckline, long sleeves, a pleated skirt and a fitted bodice.
This dress is not new to Madeleine; she debuted it in 2016 at the celebrations for the 70th birthday of her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, and now, eight years later, she has worn it again at an event that has special meaning for her.
New York holds an important place in the heart of the princess, as it was here that she lived after a heartbreak with Jonas Bergström, her former fiancé. It was in this city that she met her current husband, businessman Chris O’Neill, and it was also where her first daughter, Princess Leonore, was born in 2014.
After several years in the Big Apple, the couple moved to London and, later, to Miami. This past August, they decided to settle permanently in Stockholm, where they are now raising their three children.
The princess’s look was complemented with elegant black suede slingbacks with high heels and a braided Knot clutch by Bottega Veneta, a model also used by other royals, such as queens Letizia Mary and Maxima.
To give an even more sophisticated touch to her outfit, Madeleine chose earrings made of large freshwater pearls with a baroque white gold and diamonds hook. Her hair, loose and with soft waves, framed her face, adding a fresh and modern air.
By her side, Queen Silvia opted for a white ensemble, consisting of a knee-length skirt and fitted jacket, which she paired with a blouse embroidered with small floral details.
Like her daughter, the queen wore pearl jewelry, including earrings and a necklace, as well as a brooch commemorating the Childhood foundation, proudly celebrating this important anniversary.
The World Childhood Foundation was established in 1999 by Queen Silvia, with the aim of protecting children from sexual abuse and providing support to those who have already been victims, with a special focus on girls and young mothers.
