Danish royals shone again during the Egyptian president’s recent state visit to Denmark, at a gala held at the majestic Christiansborg Hall.
While Queen Mary was the center of attention with her impeccable styling and stunning tiara, it was Princess Marie who stole the spotlight later thanks to a detail that initially went unnoticed.
The green sequined dress by Jenny Packham
For the evening, Marie opted for a spectacular green sequined dress by Jenny Packham. The choice not only dazzled for its elegance, but also for a curious connection: this same design had previously been worn by Kate Middleton.
Kate wore this dress for the first time in 2019 during her visit to Pakistan. On that occasion, the bright green was a nod to the color of the country’s flag.
Later, in 2021, the Princess of Wales reused the garment to attend the Royal Variety gala, confirming that this design was one of her favorites.
The dress, with its fitted bodice and mermaid silhouette, is designed to enhance the figure of the wearer. Both Kate and Marie managed to highlight their natural elegance, each with their own personal style.
While Kate complemented it with details typical of her royal appearances, Marie added a distinctive touch with a diamond floral tiara and Trifari brooch.
In addition, both royals completed their looks with high pumps and clutch, proving that this design is a safe bet to look radiant.
Specifically, Princess Marie wore Jimmy Choo heels and a Bottega Veneta clutch.
In terms of jewelry, she wore her Christine Hvelplund earrings with her Dodo charm bracelet.
Although the evening was centered around the Egyptian president’s visit, Marie did not go unnoticed.
