Queen Letizia Rewears a Nearly Decade-Old Felipe Varela Tweed Dress

While Felipe VI was on a tour of Canada, Letizia had her own agenda this Thursday in Aranjuez, visiting the Civil Guard Officers’ Academy to mark the tenth anniversary of its facilities.

It’s not the kind of event she usually presides over alone, but she did. Amidst uniforms and protocol, the Queen appeared in a dress that, if you didn’t know, you’d never guess has been in her closet for nearly a decade.

The dress is by Felipe Varela, crafted in white tweed with metallic threads that add a touch of subtle sophistication. It features a fitted silhouette, a V-neck, cap sleeves, and a midi length.

A piece that remains completely relevant in 2026, and which Letizia wears exactly as she did the first time, with no visible alterations.

What I like about how Leonor and Sofia’s mother dresses is that she doesn’t chase trends; instead, she builds a wardrobe of timeless pieces and keeps them in rotation for years.

Her accessories stayed true to her signature style: a black and white duo, a mini belt that accentuated her figure, slingback pumps by Magrit, and a matching bag by Carolina Herrera—one of her favorites that she wears time and again.

For jewelry, she chose pearl earrings and a Coreterno ring on her right index finger. Nothing over-the-top, everything in harmony with the overall look. And her hair is natural, flowing and effortless, just as she’s been wearing it this season.
