The port of Cadiz witnessed an emotional moment on Saturday, January 11, when Princess Leonor, bid farewell to her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, after embarking on the training ship Juan Sebastian de Elcano to begin a new stage in her education.
However, not only the departure of the heir to the throne caught the attention, but also the elegant and symbolic styling of Queen Letizia, who knew how to convey through her outfit a message of family unity and respect for the seafaring tradition.
Queen Letizia in blue suit by Woman
The mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, chose for the occasion a two-piece outfit in petrol blue from the Woman brand of El Corte Inglés.
The jacket, with structured shoulders and a single-button closure, fit her figure perfectly, while the wide-leg pants added a touch of comfort without sacrificing elegance.
Under the jacket, the queen opted for a white blouse with a bow at the neck, by Carolina Herrera.
The light and airy fabric of this garment gave it a delicate air, creating an interesting contrast with the more rigid structure of the suit.
She completed her outfit with black loafers with wide and medium heels, a practical choice that allowed her to move with ease in the port.
A detail that did not go unnoticed was the golden floral headband that Letizia added to her look.
Decorated with small golden leaves and pearls, the piece not only elevated the ensemble to a new level of sophistication, but also served a practical function by keeping her mane in place despite the port’s characteristic wind.
The queen rarely incorporates hair accessories into her outfits, which made this choice particularly eye-catching.
However, what stood out the most were the earrings she wore, a handcrafted design by the Mallorcan firm Isabel Guarch, inspired by the wind rose.
These earrings, made in 18 carat yellow gold and set with small diamonds, evoke the seafaring tradition and have a special connection with Balearic culture, as its eight-pointed geometric design represents the Mediterranean winds.
The queen could not help but get emotional during the farewell and, on more than one occasion, she was seen wiping away some tears.
