This week, the Royal Palace hosted an important diplomatic event. This week, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia hosted the President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, at a gala luncheon attended by nearly one hundred guests.
During his speech, the King announced that Senegal has become the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to become a strategic partner of Spain.

What Queen Letizia wore to lunch with the President of Senegal
For the occasion, Queen Letizia chose a Felipe Varela ensemble that fans of her style will undoubtedly recognize.
It’s that blue cheviot two-piece suit, hand-embroidered with thread, which features a below-the-knee flared skirt paired with a fitted jacket and an integrated belt. She first wore the outfit on National Day in 2017, and she has worn it again on several occasions since then.

This time, the difference was in the jewelry. When she first wore this outfit, she chose a diamond and pearl brooch from Queen Sofía to add a touch of elegance.
This time, she took a different approach, wearing diamond earrings from Tous that she had already worn at the Military Easter Parade in January, along with a PDPAOLA solitaire necklace in 18-karat recycled white gold featuring a 0.50-carat lab-grown diamond.

The diamond is cut into 57 facets, is pure white in color, and has almost no visible inclusions. This piece of jewelry is not understated by chance; it was chosen based on sustainability criteria, which has long been a part of Letizia’s fashion statement.
