Spain’s Queen Letizia has once again shone with her presence in Cataluña, where she attended a significant event alongside King Felipe: the Planeta Awards ceremony.
This event marks a return to normality for the royal family, after several years of limited visits due to the political situation in the region. The occasion was even more special, as it marked the 75th anniversary of Grupo Planeta, founded in 1949.
Queen Letizia in Navy Blue Dress by Carolina Herrera
Upon her arrival at the National Art Museum of Cataluña, the mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia surprised everyone with her new Carolina Herrera dress, which stood out for its jewel encrustations.
The dress, made in an elegant navy blue organza, features a square neckline and wide straps, decorated with delicate rhinestones. In addition, the sparkling inlays extend horizontally across the waist and skirt, creating a stunning effect.
The choice of dress is not only a matter of style, but also of meaning. Letizia has been a loyal ambassador of Catalan brands, and on this occasion she did not disappoint.
The queen combined her beautiful outfit with black slingbacks from Massimo Dutti, known for their comfort, a detail that is important given that she has had some foot discomfort in recent months.
She also opted for an elegant navy blue satin handbag, designed by Felipe Varela, which complemented her dress perfectly.
As for jewelry, Queen Letizia surprised by choosing significant pieces from her personal collection. She wore stunning earrings from the passing lot, which belonged to Queen Victoria Eugenia.
These earrings, described in the queen’s will as “a pair of earrings with a thick brilliant and brilliants around it,” are a symbol of royal heritage, having been worn by the Infanta Cristina at her wedding. Undoubtedly, they have become one of Queen Letizia’s favorites.
In addition, the queen wore a Cartier bracelet that was a gift from Queen Sofia. This bracelet, inspired by Hellenic columns, is another example of the connection between generations of Spanish royal women.
