This Tuesday, October 29th, Queen Letizia inaugurated the exhibition “Goya x Lita Cabellut. Los Disparates. “Mísera Humanidad, la culpa es tuya” in Madrid.
For the occasion, the mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia resorted to the back of her closet to choose some of her favorite dresses.
Queen Letizia in navy blue dress with floral design
Queen Letizia arrived at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, wearing a merino wool midi dress from the Spanish firm Galcon, known for its navy blue background adorned with white flowers in intarsia-jacquard, which brought a sober and sophisticated touch.
This design represents one of Letizia’s bets on Spanish and sustainable fashion, reflecting her commitment to national talent.
This particular dress, although originally conceived for spring, has become a versatile garment in the Queen’s closet, as she has worn it on several occasions. In fact, she debuted it in March 2022 on a walk in Malaga and rescued it in April this year for World Rare Disease Day.
On each occasion, she has added subtle variations, such as the use of a belt to highlight her silhouette and accessories in different shades depending on the season.
For this inauguration, she decided to combine the dress with a handbag in navy blue, a choice that unified the look in dark tones.
Footwear has also changed over time. Because Letizia suffers from Morton’s neuroma, she has had to say goodbye to the high heels she used to wear on her official engagements.
In addition, a recent accident at the Zarzuela Palace led her to opt for low heels kitten type shoes, a more comfortable style that she has adapted in her latest appearances.
As for jewelry, Queen Letizia has also made some changes. While during the early years she never parted with the well-known Karen Hallam ring, she now prefers the Coreterno ring, which she debuted at last year’s Pascua Militar.
When it comes to selecting earrings, the Queen is usually more versatile, although on this occasion she decided to repeat a pair of floral earrings from Carolina Herrera’s Falling Jasmine collection, a special piece of jewelry inspired by the works of Argentine artist Grillo Demo.
These earrings, made in gold-plated silver and enameled in white, represent jasmine flowers and were created by the daughter of the celebrated designer.
