Queen Letizia Coordinates Her Outfit with King Felipe’s Attire

The University of Alcalá has been the setting for an event of great relevance for the Spanish Royal House: the investiture of King Felipe VI as doctor honoris causa.

The ceremony took place on February 27, marking a significant moment in the monarch’s academic career.

However, beyond the recognition of the King, the presence of Queen Letizia did not go unnoticed, in large part because of her choice of wardrobe.

Letizia, always attentive to detail, opted for a style carefully coordinated with Felipe VI’s attire.

The King, following protocol, wore the traditional black robe and red muceta, distinctive of the Department of Legal Sciences.

In a gesture of visual harmony, the Queen chose a crimson dress with a flounced skirt and asymmetrical hemline by the Spanish firm The 2nd Skin.

The French-sleeved, round-necked design highlighted her natural elegance, while a black cape by Carolina Herrera protected her from the morning chill of Alcalá de Henares, where the thermometer barely reached seven degrees.

She completed her look with a pair of burgundy Magrit pumps, with a moderate heel, ideal for the day.

As a complement, she carried a handbag of the same brand, made of crocodile leather and suede on the sides.

However, the most symbolic detail of her outfit were the ruby, white gold and diamond earrings, a jewel with history.

These pieces, designed by the prestigious Aldao jewelry store in Madrid, were a gift from Queen Sofia to Letizia in 2003, when her engagement to Felipe VI was announced.
