Queen Letizia is one of the best dressed royals in the current scene.
Throughout 2024, she has dazzled in several outfits that have captured the fashion industry’s attention, earning her accolades worldwide.
However, even style greats can stumble in their choice of wardrobe.

Despite her renowned good taste, according to fashion expert Asun Dominguez, some of the queen’s looks haven’t been entirely successful.
Queen Letizia’s Worst Outfits in 2024
Asun, who is an authority on pattern making and runs a fashion academy, has analyzed in depth Letizia’s sartorial mistakes. In her opinion, some of her outfits were ‘not right’ and ‘not flattering,’ according to Lecturas magazine.
Letizia began the year at the traditional Military Parade with an outfit that, in her opinion, was not the best start.
She opted for a tight black skirt, which although elegant, she paired with a satin blouse that left much to be desired.
“It doesn’t fit her body; it has droopy shoulders, too long sleeves and too many wrinkles,” explains the expert. For her, this look was “the least flattering of 2024.”

Another unhappy choice was her outfit during a state trip to Italy, where she opted for a tweed suit by Carolina Herrera.
Although the design was intended to be sophisticated, Asun describes it as flat and lifeless.
“The line of the suit is straight and highlights the cup of the sleeves, making her head look smaller,” she claims.

Overall, her suitcase in Rome was full of choices that, in Dominguez’s opinion, did not meet the standard a queen should have.
An Alberta Ferretti tweed ensemble that seemed to pay homage to the host country was not the best choice.
“The suit is nice, but it looks better on a taller person. The lengths of the pieces, along with the very wide belt, make her look shorter than she is,” the expert clarifies.

Finally, despite following the trends, on her visit to the Netherlands, the queen appeared in a pretty satin skirt and an elegant draped top. However, Asun has her reservations.
“Although it seems like a nice look at first glance, this combination widens the top and narrows the bottom, creating a disproportionate silhouette,” she concludes.

So, although Queen Letizia often shines on the royal catwalk, it’s good to remember that even the best in fashion can have their slips.
There is no doubt that her style continues to captivate, but sometimes it is in those mistakes that there are also lessons to be learned.
