Queen Mary Brings Autumn Forward With a Look That’s Very Copenhagen Style

Queen Mary of Denmark seems to have decided that autumn can start early in her wardrobe. For her visit to Eigtveds Pakhus in Copenhagen, she once again opted for a combination that blends elegance with that relaxed vibe so characteristic of Danish style.

A white blouse with puff sleeves, a blue Paul Smith midi skirt, and a jacquard belt in shades of brown, orange, and yellow formed the foundation of the outfit.

What I like most about this look is the accessories. Mary added green XXL sunglasses and a vintage Bottega Veneta Hobo bag in the same shade, while brown strappy sandals with a heel lent a more sophisticated touch.

It’s a fairly straightforward combination to envision, but she manages to make the different pieces work together without the result appearing overloaded.

The visit also had a very specific purpose. Mary was there to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNFPA, and the Foundation for Motherhood, given their role as sponsors of the 10 Million Safe Births Initiative.

The project aims to make safer childbirth more accessible to up to 10 million women in sub-Saharan Africa by the end of 2030, starting in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Nigeria.

And yes, there’s something curious about Mary’s choice. Just a few days ago, she had already appeared with an autumn-inspired look for her visit to Momentet, even though the temperatures still evoked summer. Now she’s doing it again, but with a look much closer to the Copenhagen style.
