Queen Mary of Denmark once again dazzled with her elegance during the gala dinner held at Christiansborg Castle, as part of the state visit of the President of Egypt to Denmark.
This event not only stood out for its diplomatic relevance, but also for the majesty of the attire and jewelry worn by the Danish royal family, with Mary as the main protagonist.
Queen Mary in Diamond Tiara at Copenhagen Gala
The queen surprised the audience by wearing a spectacular diamond tiara, a piece that has a unique history.
This jewel was created from an antique pink diamond necklace, originally designed in 1840 as a chain around the waist.
In an effort to modernize the crown jewels, the transformation was made by goldsmith Matias Hasbo Dinesen in collaboration with the Royal Collection, bringing together tradition and innovation.
Mary opted for an updo, a choice designed to allow the diamonds in the tiara to shine in all their splendor. She also completed her look with chaton earrings that added even more luminosity to her face.
As for her dress, Mary opted for a black design. The piece stood out for its high neckline, long sleeves and top adorned with stones and metallic appliqués that reflected the light in a dazzling way.
Although the design maintained a classic air, it surprised with an unexpected detail: a back slit that reached mid-thigh, revealing the stockings and shoes, which brought a bold and contemporary touch.
The finishing touch to the outfit were the orders and decorations that she wore on the dress.
A glittering event
Mary was not the only one to catch the eye. Other members of the royal family also stood out with their outfits.
Princess Marie dazzled in a sequined green Jenny Packham gown, crowned with her iconic floral tiara.
For her part, Princess Benedicta opted for the Fringe zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg tiara, a piece she had already worn at previous events and which adds a classic touch to her style.
