Frederik and Mary of Denmark have officially closed their summer season aboard the royal yacht Dannebrog with a special event.
After several trips to destinations such as Sweden, Norway, Greenland, and a tour of the Danish coastline, the yacht will finally take a well-deserved break.
To thank the crew for their efforts, the monarchs organized an elegant gala dinner at the palace of Christian VII, in the Amalienborg complex.
Queen Mary in Floral Dress by Erdem
On this occasion, Queen Mary decided to bring out of the closet one of her most memorable dresses: a long design with a striking floral print that reflected her sophisticated style.
Present at the event were the senior members of the Dannebrog’s crew, as well as Queen Margrethe II, who, despite having abdicated on January 14 in favor of her son, Frederik X, continues to actively participate in royal events.
Dressed in an elegant white design with blue flowers, Margrethe II chatted animatedly with officials, showing unwavering energy and enthusiasm after more than five decades on the throne.
For her part, Queen Mary shone in a dress by the British firm Erdem, a piece she has kept in her closet for more than ten years.
The dress, known as “Aurelia,” made its debut at a gala dinner in Norway in 2014, when Mary was still princess.
The design features a floral print in shades of red, pink and purple, with a straight cut, short sleeves and a round neckline. Originally, the dress included a matching belt, but Mary opted not to wear it, as she did in her first use of this garment.
To complete her styling, the queen paired the dress with purple suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi and a pink Bottega Veneta clutch bag, the iconic Knot model.
As for jewelry, Mary wore briolette diamond earrings adorned with amethysts, a special stone for her, as it is her birthstone.
Born in February, amethyst is a gemstone that, according to experts, brings emotional calm, promotes inner peace, fosters self-confidence and stimulates creativity and imagination.
A wise choice for a queen who always seeks harmony between her personal style and the traditions of the Danish royal house.
