Queen Mary of Denmark, known for her sophisticated and sustainable style, has once again proven that she doesn’t need new clothes to dazzle at important events.
During a busy day, Prince Frederik’s wife shined at two different engagements, reusing iconic pieces from her closet and giving a new twist to one of her most memorable dresses.
She made the first appearance of the day in an elegant gray jumpsuit by Max Mara, which she had already worn during a visit of Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden to Denmark.
But it was during the gala dinner for the 4th centenary of the Børsen building in Copenhagen that Mary really captured all eyes as she again wore a floral dress by Danish designer Lasse Spangenberg, this time with a new modification.
Queen Mary in a Floral Dress by Lasse Spangenberg
The dress, which debuted in 2018 during a gala dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, has gone through several transformations.
At its premiere, Mary wore it with a strapless neckline and an elegant black addition that fell from the chest, creating a kind of asymmetrical cape.
In 2023, for the jubilee of King Carl Gustaf of Sweden, the queen reinvented it once again, adding a rhinestone belt that enhanced her figure and adjusting the black addition to the neckline, placing it around the neck like a sling.
For dinner at the historic Stock Exchange building, Mary opted for a cleaner, more minimalist look.
This time, she dispensed with the black addition altogether and let the strapless neckline shine on its own. However, she kept the beaded belt, which she had already worn in her second appearance in this dress, highlighting her waist in a subtle but effective way.
The details of her outfit did not end there. Mary chose an elegant hairstyle, with a center parting and the front tresses pulled back behind her ears, allowing her earrings to shine in all their splendor.
These earrings, adorned with amethysts, were not a random choice, as the amethyst is the stone that symbolizes February, the month of the queen’s birth.
The final touch was given with a purple Prada clutch, perfectly coordinated with the stones in her earrings, and black Gianvito Rossi shoes.
But the most sentimental detail was undoubtedly the delicate necklace she wore, with an “F” representing her husband, Prince Frederick, an accessory that Mary chooses whenever she can.
