This October 10, the Danish royal family continues to proudly uphold its traditions, and the annual Christmas stamp presentation is one of the highlights.
However, at this event, fashion has also captured attention, especially the fact that Queen Mary opted for a blouse she shares with her daughter, Princess Isabella.
This garment not only has a special meaning, but has also been worn at key moments by both of them.

For this event, Mary chose a sober and elegant look, with black pants and the aforementioned blouse.
Although the outfit looked simple, the blouse has details that make it stand out: it is a Zimmermann design with floral print, kaleidoscope buttons, high neck and lantern sleeves with elastic cuffs.
A design that not only the queen has worn on several occasions, but her daughter Isabella also wore it at a very special event: Prince Christian’s 18th birthday, when the family went out on the palace balcony to greet the public.
The interesting thing is that this is not the only garment that mother and daughter share. For some time now, it has been common for the two to exchange pieces from their closets.
This trend is not only a style curiosity, but also a reflection of a more sustainable approach to royal fashion. It is becoming less and less common to see royals debuting new clothes, as they opt to give new life to garments they have worn before, or even sharing them with other family members. This “thrift mode” approach has become a feature of the royals’ closets.
But beyond the fashion, the event itself was very meaningful. This year, the Christmas stamp is dedicated to King Frederik and Queen Mary and celebrates the rich history of the Danish monarchy.
Among those in attendance was also Count Ingolf, Queen Margrethe’s uncle, who would have been the current king of Denmark had the law preventing women from inheriting the throne not been changed.
Queen Mary showed her closeness and warmth when she greeted Count Ingolf and his wife, the Countess of Roseborg, just as they arrived. However, the most touching moment of the event came when the Queen helped unveil the new Christmas seal, continuing this beloved family tradition that the Danish royal household follows with devotion year after year.
