Queen Mary of Denmark made an important visit to Pilehaveskolen in Vallensbæk Municipality on March 17, 2025, as part of her ongoing commitment to student well-being.
Accompanied by executives from the Mary Foundation, the Queen engaged with students and teachers to learn firsthand about their experiences with Skolestyrken, a program designed to promote a positive school environment and tackle bullying.
Her visit also brought together key figures supporting the initiative, including Helle Østergaard, Director of Børns Vilkår; Rasmus Kjeldahl, Secretary-General of Save the Children Denmark; and Henrik Rasmussen, Mayor of Vallensbæk Municipality.
The discussion highlighted the progress made since Skolestyrken was introduced in 2020, benefiting numerous schools across Denmark, including several in Vallensbæk.
Developed through a collaboration between the Mary Foundation, Børns Vilkår, and Save the Children Denmark, Skolestyrken takes a holistic approach to fostering a supportive learning environment.
The initiative is backed by the A.P. Møller Foundation, TrygFonden, Ole Kirk’s Foundation, and the Mary Foundation, ensuring its sustainability and broader reach.
Queen Mary took the time to interact with students, listening to their insights and experiences with the program.
