Mary of Denmark never ceases to amaze us with her fashion choices. With every public appearance, the queen demonstrates why she is considered a style icon in the world of royalty.

Her closet is a veritable treasure trove, filled with designer pieces that would make any fashion lover sigh.

But recently what has really caught her eye is a gesture that reveals a lot about Mary’s personality: apparently, the queen not only shares her clothes with her daughters Isabella and Josephine, but has also extended this generosity to her closest circle.

On the recent Flag Day, a solemn event held annually in Copenhagen to honor fallen soldiers, something happened that did not go unnoticed by the most attentive observers.

Henriette Ellermann-Kingombe, Mary’s personal secretary, appeared wearing a dress that many recognized instantly.

“That dress looks familiar!” one viewer commented online. And she wasn’t wrong. The design in question, by Australian brand Moss & Spy, is the same one Mary debuted five years ago during a visit to the United States.

The dress, christened “Clarissa,” is a work of art in itself. Imagine delicate lace with multi-hued detailing and elegant navy blue trim. The high neck and puffed sleeves give it a romantic touch, while its knee-length keeps it modern and versatile.

Henriette, who has worked in important government positions before becoming Mary’s fourth personal secretary, seemed at home in the borrowed dress.

For her part, Mary opted for an equally elegant but different look for the occasion.

The queen chose a navy blue dress by Jane Lewis Atelier, formerly known as Goat, accessorized with a black hat, a pink Max Mara clutch and nude Gianvito Rossi pumps. As a final touch, she wore a set of pearl jewelry that enhanced her outfit.

This gesture from Mary not only shows her generosity, but also reflects her commitment to sustainable fashion.
