The Christmas festivities in Marselisborg, the winter retreat of the Danish royal family, were once again the scene of tradition, family togetherness and style.

Queen Mary, as usual, dazzled with her elegance at the religious services held at Aarhus Cathedral, making it clear why she remains a fashion icon.

This year, her choice of garments and accessories not only captured the public’s attention, but also reflected her commitment to sustainable fashion.

Mary’s outfit for Christmas Eve mass was a statement of sophistication. The queen wore a Max Mara coat in a vibrant hue that didn’t go unnoticed, ideal for brightening up the wintry atmosphere.

The color choice, combined with her impeccable tailoring, highlighted her figure and reaffirmed her ability to choose pieces that are both modern and timeless.

To complement her coat, Mary opted for Gianvito Rossi tall boots in an elegant gray shade. This footwear, in addition to adding warmth, added a contemporary touch to her overall look.

Under the coat, the queen wore a Prada sweater embellished with sequins and rhinestones, which added a subtle yet sophisticated sparkle, creating a perfect contrast with the boots.

    Circular fashion: a family tradition

The Christmas mass not only showed Mary’s style, but also her influence on her daughters, Isabella and Josephine.

Both young women have inherited a taste for quality garments and, like their mother, they are committed to recycling pieces from their closets.

On this occasion, Isabella rescued a Prada tweed coat that Mary had worn for the first time in 2010 and that became one of her favorite garments.

The young princess paired it with dark pants and a light turtleneck sweater, adding a youthful touch with a crochet bag and a blue floral clip, very popular among girls of her generation.

For her part, Josephine stood out in a simple gray coat that allowed her Chanel shoes to take center stage.

These elegant Mary Jane’s, with a decorative bow on the instep and the brand’s iconic gold logo, had already made their debut at her father’s proclamation as king.

A queen who shines in her own light

Mary’s commitment to fashion is not limited to trends, but also includes a focus on sustainability.

The queen not only inspires with her style, but reinforces the message of reusing and appreciating garments with history, something she has clearly passed on to her daughters.
