Queen Mary of Denmark attended an important event at Industriens Hus in Copenhagen, marking World Rare Disease Day.

This global awareness day, which is observed every year on February 28 (or on February 29 in leap years, the rarest day of the year), brings attention to the challenges faced by people living with rare diseases and disabilities.

Denmark has been participating in this initiative since 2008, with organizations and communities coming together to support those affected.

As the patron of Rare Diseases Denmark (Sjældne Diagnoser) since 2005, Queen Mary has long been an advocate for raising awareness and supporting individuals with rare conditions.

Sjældne Diagnoser, founded in 1985, is a national alliance that represents over 55 associations working to improve the lives of people affected by rare diseases. At the event, Queen Mary’s presence once again highlighted her dedication to this cause.

Her accessories were carefully selected, adding elegance to her look. She wore a delicate Tahitian pearl bracelet by Dulong Fine Jewelry and the Boucle Ensemble earrings by Sophie Bille Brahe, which complemented her ensemble perfectly.

To mark the significance of the day, she also wore the distinctive Sjældne Brooch, designed by Johan Hagström, a piece that has become a symbol of her deep connection to the cause.
