The official state visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to Denmark concluded on December 8 with a heartfelt farewell ceremony at Christian VII’s Palace in Amalienborg.
King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted the farewell, which included a unique Danish royal tradition.
Before departing for Norway, President Al-Sisi signed a glass windowpane, a symbolic gesture reserved for princely guests and heads of state at the end of their official visits.
This signed pane will later be displayed in one of Denmark’s royal palaces as a lasting memory of this diplomatic exchange.
The tradition of signing a windowpane is deeply rooted in Danish royal customs, symbolizing goodwill and the strengthening of ties between nations.

For the occasion, Queen Mary showcased her sophisticated style with a striking cobalt blue suit by The Fold.
The ensemble featured the Cecille Jacket and Adelaide Trousers, exuding a tailored elegance that perfectly suited the formal tone of the event.
She complemented the suit with a classic black turtleneck jumper and added a touch of sparkle with her Sophie Bille Brahe Boucle Ensemble Earrings.
The minimalist accessories allowed the vibrant blue of her suit to take center stage, highlighting her keen sense of regal fashion.
