Queen Mary of Denmark made an elegant appearance at the religious service in honor of the victims of the Ukrainian invasion, held at Holmen Church in Copenhagen.
Dressed in dark tones, almost in mourning, Frederick and Mary showed their respect for the victims of the war, making clear their support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
Queen Mary’s Style at the Religious Service for Ukraine
Dressed in a high-necked black dress, the Queen complemented her attire with a sophisticated gray coat with a center-button placket, conveying sobriety and respect.
To add a touch of distinction, she chose a headband headdress by Jane Taylor, an accessory that gave her a classic air.
As for footwear, she opted for black suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi, combined with an elegant Quidam handbag, maintaining a sober and harmonious color palette.
However, what really caught the eye was the jewel she chose to wear on this occasion: a diamond brooch in a floral shape with a deep sentimental value.
This brooch, which belonged to Countess Renée-Yvonne de Laborde de Monpezat, came into Prince Henrik’s hands in 2001, but instead of giving it to his wife, Queen Margrethe II, he decided to keep it for a special occasion.
Finally, in 2004, he gave it as a wedding gift to his daughter-in-law Mary, who has since worn it at significant moments, such as Henrik’s own funeral in 2018.
