Queen Mathilde gave us a small style twist during Italian President Sergio Mattarella’s state visit to the Royal Palace in Brussels.

Accustomed to seeing her with her signature voluminous hairstyle—both classic and consistent—she surprised everyone this time with a faux bob that instantly rejuvenated her.

The result was a fresh, elegant, and modern look, without losing any of the sophistication that always accompanies her.

The change was subtle, but it made a difference. By gathering her hair and clearing her face, the hairstyle allowed her earrings and makeup to take center stage, creating a very harmonious balance. The queen even added a subtle headband that accentuated the natural texture of her hair.

In terms of her wardrobe, Mathilde gave an elegant nod to Italy with an electric blue silk coat from Armani Privé.

The design, featuring a jacquard micro-pattern in green tones, included a funnel neck and central buttoning, paired with a matching pleated-effect dress.

The ensemble balanced classicism and modernity, perfectly complementing her hairstyle.

To complete the look, she chose a Giorgio Armani wallet and pumps, paired with diamond earrings featuring sapphire pendants.

Overall, her style was a lesson in visual diplomacy, consistent with her royal image, and a touch of renewal.
