During her first appearance in Paris as part of a state visit to France, Queen Mathilde of Belgium left no doubt about her impeccable sense of style.
Despite arriving by train with King Philippe, Mathilde opted to change her look before making her triumphant entrance at the Gare du Nord, where the press awaited her.
Although she kept the same shoes and hat with which she traveled, she dazzled with a sophisticated burgundy Dior outfit.

The look the queen chose for her first stop in the French capital was a clear tribute to Parisian fashion.
Mathilde wore an elegant two-piece, composed of a shirt collar jacket and a midi skirt with movement, which created a ‘new look’ silhouette, very characteristic of the maison Dior.
This outfit not only reflected the refined style of the queen, but also showed her ability to adapt to the trends of the season, with burgundy as the star color.
To combat the autumn chill, Mathilde added long gloves in a slightly darker shade, a choice that not only provided warmth, but also enhanced the ensemble with a touch of classic elegance.
The details did not end there: the final touch was given with one of the most iconic bags of the Dior house, the famous Lady Dior model, which matched perfectly with her gloves and shoes, both in dark tones.
This bag, worth more than 5,500 dollars, is an iconic accessory and a reflection of Parisian luxury.
Although the parade of jewelry was not the protagonist in this visit – being France, a republican country where tiaras are usually left aside -, Queen Mathilde did not renounce to wear a pair of long earrings of pearls and diamonds, bringing a touch of discreet sophistication to her look.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the meeting with the French first lady, Brigitte Macron. However, the image of both was somewhat muted by the more sober choice of Macron, who opted for a navy blue dress accompanied by a purple coat, without a hat or headdress.
This made Mathilde’s presence stand out even more in the photographs, where her Dior ensemble captured all eyes.
This first look of the queen marks the beginning of a three-day state visit to Paris and Chantilly, and promises to be just a preview of what we will see in the coming days.
