Queen Mathilde of Belgium continued her three-day visit to Costa Rica, focusing on humanitarian efforts in collaboration with UNICEF Belgium and UNICEF Costa Rica.
On the second day of her tour, she visited two key organizations working to improve the lives of vulnerable families and children.
Her first stop was La Cometa, a public childcare center located in the district of Tirrases, San José.
Here, she learned about programs designed to help mothers achieve financial independence by providing a safe environment for their children while they work.
The center plays a crucial role in allowing women to balance their professional and family responsibilities, a cause the Queen has long supported.
Later in the day, Queen Mathilde visited the Lloverá Foundation, an initiative that assists migrant families with young children in San José.
With support from UNICEF, the foundation provides essential services, including shelter, psychosocial support, and resources to help them integrate into Costa Rican society.
