The state trip of the King and Queen of the Netherlands to Kenya has left a series of memorable outfits, and the third day was no exception.
For some outdoor engagements, Queen Maxima has opted for a relaxed outfit, with boho airs and a marked nod to African culture.
Queen Maxima’s Boho-Chic Style
Since her arrival in the country, the monarch has opted for a combination of sophistication and sustainability, repeating some pieces from her closet.
However, this time she gave an unexpected twist to her wardrobe with a two-piece from the Italian firm Etro, composed of a blouse and a long skirt with the house’s characteristic Paisley print.
This outfit is not new to her repertoire; she had previously worn it in Paris, during her support of the Dutch delegation at the Olympic Games.
To complete her look, Maxima added accessories to reinforce the casual, natural look.
The queen of the Netherlands opted for a raffia borsalino hat, a material that was also present in her belt, a piece signed by Oscar de la Renta.
As footwear, she left aside the heels and chose comfortable espadrilles, a practical choice for the hot temperatures of Kenya.
But what really caught the eye was her choice of handbag.
Far from the classic clutches that usually accompany her attire in this type of event, Maxima surprised with a sizable basket.
To complete the outfit, she wore XXL earrings, a detail that has already become a hallmark of her style.
