Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has demonstrated, once again, her innate elegance and her predilection for headdresses on her last day in Kenya.
During her state visit to the African country, the monarch has opted for beautiful outfits, but it was her final choice that has captured the attention.
Queen Maxima in a blue floral dress and green raffia headdress
A blue dress with floral print, complemented with accessories in shades of green and a striking raffia headdress, was the outfit that sealed her stay in Nairobi.
However, what makes this look special is not only its harmonious combination of colors, but the secret behind her headdress.
For this occasion, Máxima has opted for a winning formula: recycling an outfit she had already worn before.
The blue dress belongs to Natan, one of her favorites, and she combined it with stilettos, gloves, handbag and earrings in green, achieving a successful contrast.
This look is not new in her repertoire, as she wore it in New York last year and repeated it later with slight variations.
But the real star of her outfit has been the green headdress, an accessory that, although it looks like any other in her collection, has a very special origin.
Maxima usually relies on renowned designers such as Fabienne Delvigne or Philip Treacy for her hats and headdresses, but this time, the piece she has chosen has a sentimental value.
It does not come from an exclusive fashion house, but was created by Jolanda ten Brinke, a key person in her day-to-day life.
Jolanda, who has been the Queen’s personal assistant for years, took a millinery course with designer Berry Rutjes.
As a result of this training, she began to make pieces for Maxima, who has not hesitated to wear her creations on more than one occasion.
This green headdress, in particular, has been one of her favorites, as she has worn it on several occasions, along with other versions in camel color and with details of natural feathers.
With this look, Maxima demonstrated her confidence in the talent of the people around her.
