Queen Máxima has embarked on an official visit to Washington D.C. and New York, with a packed agenda centered around her role as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA).
Her visit, spanning from February 19 to 25, 2025, includes high-level discussions on financial inclusion and economic stability.
On February 20, the Dutch queen engaged in a thought-provoking “fireside chat” with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The conversation revolved around the concept of financial health and its crucial role in fostering economic growth and resilience.
Later, she met with Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, further solidifying her commitment to advocating for global financial well-being.
Queen Máxima also made a visit to the Milken Institute, a renowned nonprofit think tank dedicated to accelerating global progress in health, finance, and philanthropy.
As part of her itinerary, Queen Máxima will continue her engagements in New York on February 24.
