Queen Maxima of the Netherlands recently made a heartfelt visit to Waalwijk to inaugurate a new children’s home, Dushi Huis.
This facility is dedicated to providing a safe, long-term environment for children and young people aged 4 to 18 who, for various reasons, are unable to live at home.
Queen Maxima’s presence at the opening underscored the significance of this project in supporting youth who face challenging circumstances.
Following her time at Dushi Huis, the Queen traveled to the village of Klaaswaal, located in the municipality of Hoeksche Waard, where she engaged with various aspects of the local community.
Her first stop was the Blom housing project construction site, where she took the time to learn about the future plans for this residential development.
After her tour, Queen Maxima visited the Korstanjehuis community center, where she had the chance to meet with local residents.
Maxima also made time to connect with representatives from the NLS Music Association and the SSS Klaaswaal football club, showing her appreciation for the important role these organizations play in fostering community spirit.

Her accessories included her signature Monies Callao earrings, a Christian Dior Book tote in a stunning Flower & Balinese Endek print, and Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 105 pumps in green leaf suede.
For her later visit to Klaaswaal, the Queen opted for a more casual look, switching into comfortable Salvatore Ferragamo suede loafers.
