On April 9, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands visited the district of Heerlerbaan, in the city of Heerlen, to learn first-hand how this community is facing social challenges such as the aging population and the lack of opportunities for young people.
The day also highlighted the commitment of the neighbors to the collective welfare, the mining history of the place, and the drive for local entrepreneurship.
During her tour, the queen visited the Buurtpunt Peter Schunck community center, the Brede Maatschappelijke Voorziening Heerlerbaan – where activities related to education, health, culture and sports take place – and the Zorgcentrum Oranjehof care center.
He also made a stop at the Caumerbron community center, another key point for the neighborhood’s social life.
Queen Maxima’s Style in Heerlerbaan
True to her sophisticated style, Maxima chose for the occasion a long dress with a shirt collar and a long wool vest, both from Massimo Dutti.
She complemented the look with a textured belt from Maison Vaincourt and elegant Gianvito Rossi stilettos in tan nappa leather.
An ensemble in neutral tones that perfectly balanced formality and warmth, in keeping with the approachable tone of the visit.
Heerlerbaan, with about 9,500 inhabitants, is the smallest district of Heerlen, and the queen’s visit showed her interest in local initiatives that strengthen social welfare.
