Queen Maxima of the Netherlands stole all eyes during the afternoon of Friday, August 30, when she made her appearance in Zundert, a small town in the south of Holland known for being the scene of the world’s largest flower parade.

This event, held on the first Sunday of September, is one of the most anticipated in the country and has been a year in the making.

Smiling and with the sympathy that always characterizes her, the wife of King Willem-Alexander arrived in town to observe the final touches on the floats that would participate in the parade.

For the occasion, Máxima left aside her characteristic vibrant looks and opted for a simpler style, inspired by the sailor air.

She chose a white and navy blue horizontal striped blouse that she combined with a white linen suit composed of a slightly fitted jacket with a single button and straight-cut pants, both from Massimo Dutti.

She had already worn this outfit during the summer of 2020, demonstrating once again her ability to recycle garments with great style.

Máxima’s choice proved to be perfect to face the heat of the afternoon, as she strolled around the venue.

To complement her outfit, the Queen opted for flower-shaped pearl earrings, a clear nod to the theme of the event, and a Marni handbag.

Her presence was not limited to being just a spectator, as she did not hesitate to roll up her sleeves and collaborate with the local volunteers, helping with the final details of the floats, created by the inhabitants of the twenty villages that are part of Zundert.

Queen Máxima enthusiastically joined in the festive spirit, enjoying herself as she did her bit in preparing the floats, for which around eight million flowers are used each year.

The Corso Zundert, as the parade is known locally, was born in 1936 to commemorate Queen Wilhelmina’s birthday and has since grown in magnitude and renown, attracting more than fifty thousand visitors each year.
