Queen Maxima has the unique ability to turn any official engagement into a fashion show, and her recent appearance at the Tilburg Trade Fair made this clear once again.
After accompanying her husband, King Willem-Alexander, to the ceremony for the new Grand Duke of Luxembourg, the Dutch monarch returned home and surprised everyone with a vibrant change in her wardrobe.
At the twentieth edition of this fair, which focused on strengthening collaboration between companies and social organizations, Maxima once again reaffirmed her position as a benchmark for royal elegance.
Before the inauguration, she spoke with business leaders and volunteers about the value of social responsibility, a topic she often addresses with ease and familiarity. Afterward, she toured the exhibition with her characteristic energy, showing interest in each project.
Queen Maxima’s Style at the Tilburg Trade Fair
For the occasion, the queen chose an Óscar de la Renta dress that we hadn’t seen in action for years. This design from the Fall/Winter 2018 collection features black plant embroidery on a light-toned base, striking a perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication.
The interesting thing is that this piece has a history: Maxima first wore it during her state visit to the United Kingdom in 2018, when she met with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. Undoubtedly, a dress with symbolic significance in her wardrobe.
In Tilburg, she also wore the elegant black seed-shaped headdress by Philip Treacy, one of those pieces that only she could wear with such natural ease. She paired it with a low bun and floral earrings that added a touch of light to the ensemble.
