Queen Maxima captured the attention with her characteristic style on a day where she attended the national work conference “More access to art and culture” organized by the foundation “More Music in the Classroom” of which she is patron.
Always elegant, the queen combined her busy schedule with a great dose of style and her particular spontaneity where she helped children prepare sandwiches.
The main event of the day was a cooking workshop with elementary school children, an activity that brought out the queen’s funniest and most intimate side.
Queen Maxima in plaid ensemble by Natan
For this occasion, Maxima opted for a striking two-piece plaid ensemble by Natan, the Belgian firm that is one of her favorites.
This ensemble, which has been part of her wardrobe on multiple occasions, is composed of a wide-cut trouser and a blouse with puffed sleeves, both with plaid prints that combine different colors and sizes.
With her unique ability to mix textures and patterns, Maxima once again demonstrated how to reinvent classic pieces without losing an ounce of style.
The queen complemented the look with a Gucci bag that has a particular history: it is the Horsebit 1955 model, one of the most iconic creations of the Italian house, and has been in her closet for almost two decades.
Maxima debuted this bag in 2006 during a visit to the Winter Olympics in Turin. Although it is a piece that does not often appear in her outfits, this time she decided to bring it out of the closet, giving it prominence with this look.
To add an extra touch of glamour, Maxima chose some golden bamboo effect earrings. As for her hair, she preferred to wear it loose and unadorned.
Maxima once again demonstrated her ability to reuse pieces from her closet, giving them a new touch of freshness and elegance.
