Queen Maxima of the Netherlands once again shone brightly at a gala event, once again demonstrating her undisputed elegance.
On this occasion, she attended the inauguration of a new sculpture garden that the Stedelijk Museum has given to the residents of Amsterdam, celebrating the 750th anniversary of the city.
Queen Maxima in a Sequin Dress by Jan Taminiau
For this special evening, the Queen of the Netherlands chose a stunning dress that once again made it clear why she is a style benchmark.
The dress, designed by Jan Taminiau, a Dutch designer to whom Maxima entrusts her best looks for big events, was a majestic brown piece.
Made of light chiffon, the dress featured sheer sleeves with marked cuffs, which brought an ethereal air to the ensemble.
The round neckline, subtle yet elegant, was decorated with gold sequin appliqués that extended down the sides of the dress, creating a design that highlighted the queen’s figure.
The sequins gathered at the waist, giving a touch of elegance and highlighting the feminine silhouette.
Although the dress is new, it has an interesting history. The designer Jan Taminiau presented it a few years ago at an exhibition, but in its original version the model was sleeveless and with an open back.
For a client like Queen Maxima, Taminiau decided to make some adjustments, adding sleeves and covering the back, thus adapting the piece to the needs and role of the monarch, without losing its essence.
As always, accessories were key to complete her look. Maxima chose a golden bag from Marina Raphael, which broke with the formality of the classic clutch and provided a more casual touch.
The sandals, with a gold maxi platform, matched perfectly with the sequins of the dress, creating a harmonious and bright set.
As for the jewelry, the queen opted for a pair of leaf-shaped fantasy earrings, adorned with golden beads.
These earrings, in addition to being dazzling, brought a touch of light to Maxima’s face.
The result was an impeccable look, ideal for a red carpet.
