The city of Utrecht experienced a long-awaited moment with the restoration of its iconic Dom Tower, and the one in charge of giving the final touch to this historic work was none other than Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

After five years of painstaking restoration work and scaffolding, the Dom Tower, which at 112 meters tall stands as the tallest structure in the Netherlands, glowed like never before thanks to its new lighting.

The lighting ceremony was led by Queen Maxima together with Mayoress Sharon Dijksma, and was not only an emotional moment, but also one of great pride for the citizens of Utrecht, who flocked to witness the occasion.

The bells of the tower resounded loudly in the city while a group of local artists gave performances on a large stage, making the evening unforgettable.

During the celebration, the queen had the opportunity to meet with the workers involved in the restoration. They reviewed each of the 10,000 pieces of stone that make up the tower to assess which ones needed to be replaced.

This patient and detailed work now allows Utrecht to recover one of its most beloved architectural symbols.

For this special occasion, Maxima dazzled in an eye-catching powder pink ensemble.

She wore a pair of wide Shantung silk trousers with a top by the Belgian firm Natan, one of her favorite designers.

Over her ensemble she wore a reversible beige/camel wool cape, also by Natan.

She complemented her look with Laura 85 knee-high boots by Gianvito Rossi in nude leather and a Jige Elan 29 clutch bag by Hermes, completing an ideal look for the festive evening in Utrecht.
