Maxima of the Netherlands once again proved why she is considered the queen of color with her choice of attire at the Erasmus Prize 2024 ceremony.
The event, held at the majestic Royal Palace in Amsterdam, was attended by leading Dutch royalty, including King Willem-Alexander, Princess Irene and former Queen Beatrix. Together, they presided over the award ceremony for Indian writer Amitav Ghosh, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the humanities, social sciences and the arts.
Queen Maxima’s style at the Erasmus Prize 2024
For this occasion, Maxima searched in the back of her closet for the striking dress designed by Claes Iversen.
This model, far from being a conventional garment, is an ode to exuberance and creativity.
In a vibrant indigo blue, the piece is adorned with horizontal embroidery in shades of lemon yellow, purple and red, which give it a unique dynamism.
But the detail that stood out the most was the incorporation of feathers at the bottom of the skirt, with delicate shades of pale pink and blue, evoking a glamorous and sophisticated style in the purest Gatsby style.
The queen completed her look with towering heels by Gianvito Rossi, the favorite Italian shoemaker of many European royals. In deep red, the pumps added a touch of boldness to her look.
In the jewelry department, Maxima opted for equally stunning pieces. Her earrings, designed in the shape of a waterfall, were composed of small beads in a vibrant green that contrasted harmoniously with the rest of her outfit.
To this ensemble she added a spectacular ring with a large emerald as the protagonist, reaffirming her taste for striking and sophisticated accessories.
