As part of her role as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands recently visited Singapore.
This visit coincided with the fifteenth anniversary of her appointment in 2009 to promote financial inclusion around the world, a commitment that has taken her to numerous countries, and this time led her to participate in one of the region’s most prominent economic events.
On her second day in Singapore, Máxima met with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Istana Palace, where they discussed economic and financial development issues.
Later, at the city’s exhibition grounds, the queen gave a talk in which she shared her thoughts on global financial health, moderated by Tilman Ehrbeck, founder of Flourish Ventures.
She also participated in the opening of the Global Fintech Hackcelerator, an event driving innovation in the financial technology sector.
Queen Maxima in yellow floral dress in Singapore
Demonstrating her unmistakable style, Máxima wore a vibrant yellow dress with floral print by Belgian firm Natan, one of her go-to designers.
It was a kimono-style design with puffed sleeves, which combined yellow with ocher tones, a bold choice that highlighted her personality and complemented with a belt, a quilted Chanel bag, sheer stockings and matching heels.
Over the years, Máxima has shown a special predilection for yellow, especially at summer events.
Recently, during a visit to New York, she also opted for a Natan design in this shade, albeit with embroidered details and an elegant headdress.
At the conclusion of her engagements in Singapore, Queen Máxima will return to the Netherlands to preside over the ceremony to switch on the new lighting of the Utrecht Cathedral tower, a significant event where culture and history will be at the forefront.
