Where there’s color, there’s Maxima. The Queen of the Netherlands once again proved that she is not afraid to stand out with her wardrobe choices.
This time she did it in Leiden, during the official opening of the Above Ground Level exhibition, where she appeared in a mustard look that was hard to miss.
Queen Maxima’s style in Leiden
The outfit, which looked like it was made for an artistic showcase, was composed of a blouse with a scarf around the neck that fell gracefully, and a midi skirt with a flounce that marked the waist.
The star garment, signed by designer Lena Hoschek, is a true work of craftsmanship.
It is made from embroidered ribbons from different regions of Europe and Japan, a detail that adds texture to an already striking piece.
To complete the look, she chose a matching felt hat by Belgian designer Fabienne Delvigne. She also carried a handbag and suede pumps in a coordinating shade.
The whole ensemble formed a palette as strong as it was harmonious, very much in Maxima’s style.
This is not the first time she has opted for a similar formula. In 2020, during the presentation of the Prince Bernhard Cultuurfonds Award to the dance collective ISH, she wore the same skirt but with a different blouse: a more sober Natan design in champagne color, with slightly puffed sleeves.
In comparison, her appearance in Leiden was more daring.
