Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander recently visited the Wijkpaleis in Rotterdam to celebrate a special occasion. It wasn’t just their 24th wedding anniversary; it also marked their 250th event as the patron couple of the Oranje Fonds.
This fund was established in 2002 as a wedding gift from the Dutch people, and has since supported over 250,000 social initiatives with knowledge, advice, funding, and a network of partners and volunteers.

During the visit, they met with founders of social initiatives and representatives of the fund to closely observe the work being done.
For the occasion, the Queen of the Netherlands chose a completely new outfit from Begg x Co. She wore a cashmere cape with a matching dress of the same material.

She clearly likes the brand, as the combination of the cape and dress gave her that sophisticated yet approachable air she handles so well.
The outfit was perfect for a visit like this, where you need to look appropriate without losing your connection to the people you know.

She completed the look with her black, knee-high Gianvito Rossi Laura 85 leather boots. These are the boots we’ve seen in her closet before, and they go with almost everything.
The choice was a good one because the black balanced the tone of the cashmere and gave the outfit structure without overcomplicating it. No excessive accessories or unnecessary embellishments, just enough to let the ensemble speak for itself.
