Queen Emerita Sofia once again demonstrated why she remains an icon of elegance in the Spanish royal family.
On this occasion, she attended the Ibero-American Poetry Award ceremony, a culturally significant event held in the majestic Hall of Columns at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
This award, named after her, was presented to Colombian poet Piedad Bonnett in recognition of her work.
Queen Sofia’s Style at the Poetry Award Ceremony
Sofia chose a striking ensemble, led by a tweed blazer in an intense red tone, one of her favorite colors for important events.
The design, which stood out for its silk lapels, had already been a protagonist on other significant occasions, such as when she received the gold medal of the Balearic Islands earlier this year.
However, the details of her look didn’t stop at the blazer. On the front of the jacket, she wore a brooch that captured everyone’s attention, as it was the emblematic grape cluster, a jewel made of amethysts set in gold.
This piece has profound sentimental significance, as it was the accessory Queen Sofia wore on the day of her son’s engagement, the then Prince of Asturias, to Letizia Ortiz.
The rest of the accessories complemented the outfit perfectly. A long pearl necklace matched her earrings, while several gold rings and an elegant gold watch added the final touch.
