On Thursday, October 31, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, stepped out in support of a cause close to her heart, attending the Buddy Dogs Family Event at the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association’s Training Centre in Reading.
As Patron of Guide Dogs, the Duchess made a point of engaging with children who benefit from the charity’s Buddy Dog program, which pairs service dogs with children affected by sight loss.
These dogs not only provide companionship but also play a crucial role in boosting the confidence and emotional well-being of young people who face daily challenges due to vision impairment.
During the event, the Duchess spent time listening to the children’s personal stories and experiences with their Buddy Dogs. She joined in on a Halloween-themed activity, creating treats for the dogs with the children, adding a playful touch to the day while underscoring the unique bond Buddy Dogs can foster.
The Duchess of Edinburgh’s style at the Guide Dogs event
The Duchess of Edinburgh chose a refined, yet familiar outfit for this special visit. She wore her signature black blazer paired with the eye-catching Valentino x Undercover Lip Floral Print Midi Skirt.
Sophie completed her ensemble with Aquazzura’s Manzoni 85 ankle boots in black suede, her Lulu Guinness poppy clutch, and added a sentimental touch with the Cassandra Goad Golden Thread Quote Pendant.
To honor Remembrance Day, she wore a poppy brooch from Marks & Spencer’s Poppy Collection.
