The Duchess of Edinburgh carried out a special engagement on February 13, 2025, as she visited Royal Air Force (RAF) Wittering in Peterborough.
In her role as Honorary Air Commodore, a position she has held since 2008 following an appointment by Queen Elizabeth II, the Duchess took the opportunity to connect with personnel and gain insight into the station’s operations.
RAF Wittering, located in Cambridgeshire, serves as the headquarters for the RAF Support Force and plays a crucial role in flying training.
During her visit, the Duchess toured the facilities, met with officers, and spent time with their families, highlighting the significance of their service and dedication.

For the occasion, the Duchess opted for a sophisticated yet practical ensemble.
Sophie wore her emerald green Giuliva Heritage Linda blazer, a timeless piece she first debuted in May 2022.
Underneath, she paired it with a crisp white jumper, complementing her tailored Gabriela Hearst Vesta trousers in a rich chocolate hue.
Completing the look, she wore a pair of classic boots and accessorized with elegant Giulia Barela Poetica small hoop earrings, adding a touch of understated refinement.
The visit reinforced the Duchess’s ongoing support for the Royal Air Force and its personnel, reflecting her commitment to the role she has held for nearly two decades.
