Following her appearance at Prinsjesdag 2025 and her visit to the Dutch Brain Bank, Queen Maxima is back on the international agenda, this time in New York.
What made the occasion special was that she traveled with Princess Amalia, who is gradually beginning to appear on the global stage alongside her mother.
Maxima’s relationship with New York has a personal touch, as it was there that she lived during her years in the financial sector and where she met William. Now, the city also serves as a learning environment for Amalia.
As an heir, her official role is still limited, but according to the Royal Household, the purpose of this trip was to “oversee the work of Queen Maxima,” an elegant way of saying that she is observing, taking notes, and learning from within.
And of course, beyond the political agenda, there was one detail that couldn’t be overlooked: their style.
Amalia appeared in an oversized black suit paired with a white top and red Gianvito Rossi shoes, creating a look that was both understated and youthful. This style perfectly aligned with the role of a future queen who aims to appear serious while remaining approachable.
Maxima, for her part, opted for a blue Max Mara outfit with a white top and shoes by Gianvito Rossi.
Both appeared in public together, looking professional and perfectly dressed for the occasion.
