The Royal Family’s Christmas holidays are over. On the morning of January 6th, the Feast of the Epiphany, Felipe, Letizia, and Leonor reappeared at the Royal Palace for the Military Easter. And it was Leonor who captured everyone’s attention.
Having just turned 20 and dressed in the Air Force uniform, where she has been training in San Javier for months, the heiress demonstrated the poise she has been gaining with each public appearance.

Her parents supported her every move, but she no longer needs as much help as she once did.
Queen Letizia begins the year with sophisticated black and white attire
Letizia chose an impeccable style for this first official event of 2026. She arrived wearing a black cloak to protect herself from the cold, but once inside the palace, she revealed an ensemble of a white blouse with bell sleeves and a long black skirt.

Nothing flashy, everything under control. Pure sophistication, as always.

Felipe, for his part, wore a military uniform befitting his role as head of the Armed Forces. Infanta Sofía was notably absent from the event.
Family solidarity and expressions of pride for Leonor
Inside the palace, the three greeted the guests naturally. It was evident that both Felipe and Leonor were well acquainted with some of those present, which led to more relaxed moments and genuine smiles. They also exchanged words during the most relaxed moments.

The family’s closeness was evident, especially when Leonor listened attentively to the speeches dedicated to her.
Defense Minister Margarita Robles highlighted the values Leonor is learning through her military training: effort, dedication, respect, and a commitment to service.

But it was Felipe who was most moved as he proudly spoke of the path his daughter is taking. He defined her as the future queen and the future supreme commander of the Armed Forces.
Leonor, serious and focused, listened to every word. It’s clear she fully understands the weight of what lies ahead.
