Felipe Juan Froilán, the favorite grandson of Juan Carlos I, is facing a period of uncertainty while residing in the United Arab Emirates under the supervision of his grandfather.
Despite his efforts to adapt to life in Abu Dhabi, his employment situation remains undefined, generating concern among those close to him.
Froilan’s Struggles in Abu Dhabi
As we reported here at RoyalFamily.News, during a recent visit to Madrid, Froilan told the media that he has no plans to return to Spain for the time being.
However, sources close to the portal Monarquía Confidencial reveal that the nephew of Felipe VI has not received support from his maternal family to return to the country and remains unsuccessful in the labor market in the Emirates.
From Zarzuela, they seek to avoid any “bad influence” of Froilán on the Royal House.
Several Spanish businessmen have decided not to sign employment agreements with him due to his perceived immature behavior.
Now approaching his 26th birthday, the perception of immaturity remains, hindering his rapprochement with the Royal House, which seeks to project an image of seriousness and responsibility.
King Felipe VI has shown his support for his sister Cristina, but has no intention of doing the same with Elena’s children, Froilán and Victoria Federica, due to their “problematic and not very discreet” behavior, according to sources close to the King’s Household.
Financial support from the king emeritus
Meanwhile, Juan Carlos I has stepped in to help Froilán financially until he achieves professional stability in Abu Dhabi.
“The situation is difficult, but his grandfather would not allow him to lack anything,” they confess.
Froilán’s life in the Emirates has not been easy. Sources close to him indicate that his day-to-day life is mainly focused on work, with few leisure plans, which causes him frustration.
In addition, he has not been able to find a circle of friends in the country, and the local culture does not quite click with him. “He just doesn’t fit in,” they say.
Despite the difficulties, his grandfather, Juan Carlos I, continues to use his network of contacts to try to position Froilán in the Arab business world, a sector in which he already has experience.
However, despite the situation, for now, Froilán is not expected to return to Spain.
