Although there has been no recent update from the palace on the king’s health status, his absence from recent public events and his slightly thinner appearance have fueled speculation about his health.
How Sick is King Charles?
According to the U.S. portal, The Daily Beast, sources close to the palace claim that King Charles’ health “It’s not good.”
On February 5, the king revealed his cancer diagnosis, in an unprecedented act of royal transparency.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the statement began.
Since then, his team has provided no further information about his health.
It has never been specified what type of cancer the monarch is suffering from. They have only said that it is not prostate cancer.
Since then, King Charles has been making regular visits to London for radiotherapy treatment.
The public’s interest in knowing more details about how ill King Charles is is normal, since he is the head of state and leader of a hereditary monarchy.
It is known that Charles III can only be removed by death or abdication, so his prognosis is a matter of public interest.
Operation Menai Bridge: King Charles’ Funeral Plan
According to The Daily Beast, Charles’ funeral plans (Operation Menai Bridge) are regularly updated.
They also claim that a document is circulating in Whitehall that reviews everything that went right and wrong after the Queen’s funeral, in order to better organize when the monarch dies.
Charles’ entourage is said to be very concerned about his health, but they are trying to remain positive.
“Of course he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it. Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell. More than they are letting on,” Said a longtime family friend to The Daily Beast.
The UK press has not openly mentioned the possibility that Charles III may die soon, nor have they mentioned the planning of his funeral.
The last time King Charles was seen in public was on April 21 as he was leaving Crathie Kirk, near Balmoral, after a Sunday church service.
Charles was driving the vehicle and his wife, Queen Camilla, was at his side.
