After his dismal performance at the Sanxenxo regattas due to weather problems, ex-king Juan Carlos set course for another Spanish region, taking advantage of his visit to the Iberian country.
King Felipe’s father, 85, arrived in Spain on April 19, 2023 and since then has chosen to keep a low profile. No mass baths or street meetings with the press or citizens. That was the order that came from the Zarzuela Palace.
How is the health of King Juan Carlos
After his trip to the regattas, the emeritus monarch traveled to Vitoria, where he spent the night in a clinic.
Specifically, Juan Carlos I visited the dentist Eduardo Anitua and the traumatologist Mikel Sánchez. Both have received worldwide recognition and awards for their contributions to medicine. The dentist has an excellent relationship with the monarch and with the royal family in general. In fact, he treats Princess Leonor’s dental problems.
He has earned the trust of the royal family because of his discretion. Those who know him that “Eduardo has an allergy to social life and it is difficult to see him and his wife at events that have nothing to do with their profession”.
According to Vanitatis, the ex-king arrived in a private plane to the region and went directly to the doctors’ clinic, where he stayed. The same media adds that there are a number of rooms that are used for patients who prefer to maintain absolute discretion.
For the moment and despite his age, the king is in good health and the visits to the medical center are due to routine check-ups, which lasted all day.
