Iñaki Urdangarin, the awkward son-in-law of Spain’s royal family, is back at the centre of controversy and, this time, with his eyes on the ground, as the former handball player has apologized for his errant behaviour and for hurting, above all, the Infanta Cristina, his still-wife. Now, Iñaki Urdangarin asks for forgiveness publicly.
Last month, Iñaki was captured very romantic and holding hands with his “girlfriend” Ainhoa Armentia on Bidart beach, very close to the house he has with his family.

The worst of all was not that: it was not the first time that the son-in-law of King Juan Carlos I of Spain and Queen Sofia of Greece had been seen with a woman other than his wife.
Iñaki Urdangarin asks for forgiveness
Now, less than 30 days after the scandal, the former Duke of Palma has said he feels “ashamed” of everything that has happened and hopes that the Infanta Cristina de Borbón y Grecia can forgive him (again).
According to a report by “Vanitatis”, Iñaki Urdangarin believes he was a “fool” not to avoid being photographed with the other woman who is also married and, furthermore, it is revealed that their affair is now over.
“It was something, he says, fleeting, a friendship that got complicated and which he didn’t know how to stop,” his website reads.
Luckily for him, the four children – now teenagers – that he had with the Infanta have been understanding towards their father, as they believe that we all have bad moments in life.
Although it has been said that the Infanta and Iñaki Urdangarin put a pause to their marriage, it seems that divorce will no longer be the next step, if the sister of Spain’s King Felipe decides to give her children’s father a second chance.
