Irene Urdangarin, the Infanta Cristina’s youngest daughter, is about to embark on a new and exciting stage as she prepares to move to the UK to study at a prestigious university, where she will soon cross paths with Alexia from Holland.
But before starting this new adventure, Irene has been enjoying the summer in Madrid, spending quality time with her mother, Infanta Cristina, who recently paid a visit to the Spanish capital.
Infanta Cristina and Irene’s Outing in Madrid
Cristina’s trip was aimed at attending the wedding of Victoria López-Quesada and Enrique Moreno de la Cova, an event that took place last Saturday at the Soto de Mozanaque estate.
A few days before that special day, mother and daughter were seen sharing a pleasant afternoon together, with their smiles and mutual affection captured by the cameras.
In the days leading up to the wedding of the daughter of Cristina de Borbón-Dos Sicilias and Pedro López-Quesada, Irene and the daughter of her grandmother, Queen Sofía, were spotted shopping in the elegant Salamanca neighborhood.
The couple even visited the atelier of Lorenzo Caprile, the designer of many of Queen Letizia’s dresses and a long-time collaborator of Cristina herself.
This visit has sparked speculation about the possibility that Caprile also dressed the Infanta for the wedding of Victoria López-Quesada and Enrique Moreno de la Cova, which was attended by King Felipe VI, Queen Emeritus Sofia and Infanta Elena.
The style of Irene Urdangarin and Infanta Cristina
To go shopping, Irene chose an elegant black midi-cut dress with a boho look, cinched with a wide leather belt and combined with flat sandals in the same tone.
She completed her look with a fabric bag and a long gold beaded necklace.
Cristina, on the other hand, opted for a casual but chic outfit: flowing white pants, printed blouse in earth tones, white sneakers, large dark brown bag and oversize sunglasses.
While the outfit Irene wore to the wedding is still unknown, the look chosen by her mother, the Infanta Cristina, was captured in the photos released by the agencies.
She wore a blouse with a masculine cut, combined with a voluminous chiffon skirt with watercolor print in shades of blue and black, and finished off the outfit with a clutch that gave it a touch of sparkle.
Irene, daughter of the former Duke and Duchess of Palma, has been living at the Zarzuela Palace since the beginning of the year, where she shares a home with her maternal grandmother, Queen Sofia, and her brothers, Miguel and Juan Valentin.
After spending a few months volunteering in Cambodia, Irene returned to Madrid, where she has made the most of the summer with her cousin Victoria Federica and other friends, as well as enjoying a few days in Bidart with her siblings and her paternal family.
Now, Irene is about to embark on her next adventure: moving to the UK to study Events Management at University College London (UCL).
