Iñaki Urdangarin’s divorce from Infanta Cristina is about to be finalized, following the sportsman’s affair with Ainhoa Armentia.
According to the Spanish press, the separation agreement is very favorable for the former handball player, who has already received a large sum of money as part of the settlement, which will allow him to live in peace.
According to journalist Juan Luis Galiacho, Urdangarin agreed to a little more than $2 million for the dissolution of the marriage and has already received $1 million.
Infanta Cristina’s divorce settlement
According to the country’s press, the monthly pension Urdangarin will receive after signing the agreement will be around $26,000 a month.
Until now, Urdangarin had been receiving more than $6,000 a month from the Infanta Cristina to maintain his silence following Iñaki’s alleged intention to reveal everything about his relationship with the daughter of Spain’s ex-king.
The money was also to cover his children’s expenses.
After spending time in Brieva prison, Iñaki had no income other than what he earned as an associate at the law firm where he met his new girlfriend, Ainhoa Armentia.
Once the divorce is signed, the $6,000 will increase to more than $26,000 a month.
All this money will come from the pockets of King Emeritus Juan Carlos, who, according to the journalist, was the person who pushed hardest for the divorce to be signed.
