Infanta Elena’s birthday was a special occasion for the Spanish royal family to gather. The eldest daughter of King and Queen Emeritus Juan Carlos and Sofia turned 60 on December 20 and wanted to celebrate with her loved ones with an intimate family dinner.
Infanta Elena’s birthday
The family reunion was marked by the presence of important guests, including her sister, Infanta Cristina, her children Felipe and Victoria, her nephews Juan, Pablo and Irene, her aunts Irene and Margarita, her cousins Alexia de Grecia and Simoneta Gómez Acebo.
Naturally, King Felipe and Queen Letizia did not want to miss this tribute to the monarch’s older sister.
Also present was King Juan Carlos I, who returned from Abu Dhabi for the occasion and was very affectionate with his daughter.
With a smile on her face, Infanta Elena arrived at the restaurant chosen to celebrate her birthday and greeted the waiting media.
To celebrate her birthday, the Infanta decided to wear a comfortable outfit consisting of gray striped pants, a black blouse, a black coat, a brown handbag and low-heeled boots.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia were the last to arrive, opting for a more casual style. The king wore a dark suit with a blue tie and the queen wore Maje tweed trousers, a leather jacket and loafers with track soles.
According to close sources, there was a relaxed and cordial atmosphere among the attendees, who toasted to the health and happiness of the Infanta Elena.
The Infanta Elena has shown that, despite the difficulties she has experienced in recent years, she is still an optimistic, vital and generous person, dedicated to her work at the Mapfre Foundation and to her children.
Her birthday was an opportunity to celebrate her life and her role in the Spanish royal family, despite the controversy that separated them years ago.
